I think Mathews is a really talented player -- he was a top 15 pick. His issue has been staying healthy and wear-and-tear. But as far as natural talent, you can't dispute it with Mathews. Not to take anything away from Murray -- I think it's a good combination. ...And Murray isn't getting traded. Tough to trade a new contract.

Zach, Let's be honest, with all the new players in key spots (QB, OL, Secondary) it has taken the Birds a few weeks to come together. I'll take the optimistic fan's approach and say we win vs. a soft Panthers team and go into the bye week 4-3 and looking much better-what say you?
-
I wouldn't call the panthers soft. That team is 5-0 and beat Seattle on the road. But 4-3 or 3-4, I think they're in decent position. I thought they needed to be at least 3-4 going into the bye in this division, because I think 9 wins can win the division. But 4-3 is obviously much better.

I miss the camaraderie and cohesiveness of the Eagles during the McNabb era. Who's stepping up to lead this team, who gets everyone fired up and ready to play in the locker room, and how long before this team starts to benefit on the field from the intangibles off the field?

Zach, this is how I view it........get to 4-4 at the break.......then from that point on, Bradford has no more excuses.......he can throw only 6 more picks in the last 8 games and the offense by that time needs to catch up to the defense. 5 home games in last half of the season.....we go 6-2 and finish 10-6...............you agree?
-
The break is after this week, so they'll be either 3-4 or 4-3. But Bradford's excuses are wearing thin. He needs to play better. And if they can get to 10-6, that'd be a good situation considering the way they started the season. 7-3 the rest of the way would be a good situation, and would give them a home playoff game.
