Thank you for joining the weekly chat. Training camp finished today. Let's get to your questions...
I don't know that there was an extension for Joe Douglas. My guess is Douglas is running his own team in the coming years.
They're going with what they have. Ngata and Vaeao are the top reserves for Jernigan right now, and they can move Michael Bennett inside. That versatility from Bennett is key.
I just think it's the defense having better personnel right now. The offense has been banged up. WRs have been hurt, Wentz hasn't been out there.
I don't see it as poor conditioning. It's typical this time of year. They're just being more mysterious about the injuries than needed.
There's no first wave anymore. They need to be down to 53 players by Sept. 1. My guess is they make a round of cuts before the fourth preseason game, though.
I don't think a contract extension has anything to do with injuries this year. Totally independent of each other. But they're going to ride Ajayi this year.
He could, they'll see what's out there. Reynolds is a key special teams player. Walker is a MIKE linebacker. Seems Gerry and Grugier-Hill are the top candidates to play.
Who said they're trading Darby? I think they go into the season with Mills and Darby as the starters.
Depends if Josh Adams gets back in time. I can see him making the team. I think they go 4 RBs and 5 WRs, but it could be 5 and 5. Health is a question.
Jeffery, Agholor, Wallace, Hollins, Gibson are the top five. Aiken, Wheaton, Ward, Davis, Treggs in competition for that last spot if they keep one.
Definitely not the latter. I think teams are seeing what they have and who will make their teams. My guess is the trades would come closer to cut-down day.
Probably in the third quarter of them. So 17-24.
They need their WRs to get healthy. It's a big concern so far.
The Eagles go back to a regular season schedule after today. So we can't watch team drills. Players are out of hotels. Practices are later in the day.
Definitely has a shot, especially if Eagles don't think they can sneak him to practice squad. If I made my 53 now, I'd put him on there.
Don't think he's in over his head, just think he doesn't want to say much and reverts to coach speak. He's smart and thoughtful, but for some reasons, coaches are conditioned to trying to act that way in public.
Sounds like nothing serious, but you never know. Eagles don't need to release an injury report until Week 1.
Nope. He should be ready Week 1.
I believe Wentz will play Week 1. It's going to be close, like he said, but I believe he'll be out there.
