It's only two days, so evaluations should be curbed. JaCorey Shepherd is not really under-the-radar, and he's someone I would have said. Raheem Mostert is someone who Chip Kelly pointed out, as is Denzel Rice. Jerome Couplin is another guy I'd pay attention to at this point.

Wrote about this last week, Chris, with insight from Chip:
Early Birds: Chip Kelly on facilities, public practices, and training camp start date
Philly.com1) Chip Kelly wants practice to be efficient, so he should hope there’s not heavy rain or storms during training camp. The Eagles have three outdoor practice fields at the NovaCare Complex, plus additional space. The indoor facility is not even a full-length field. -

So Boykin goes about expressing his desire to give competition on the outside CB spot in the correct way. He went to his coaches, kept it in house. His head coach, then tells him and us (media incl.) that Boykin will be given that chance this summer. All while Boykin still does not speak on it. Yet, he is asked constant questions about it. So when he finally does answer. He responds affirmatively, that, yes. Chip said I would get a shot outside, and "I'm going to hold him to his word." So, now Boykin gets traded because we have such great depth, that isn't better than Boykin playing in the slot? The same parameters existed before for Boykin and the FO regarding his contract status. So why now trade him? Beyond the "they got a 5th rd pick, that could turn into a 4th for him."

Since Travis Long tore his ACL yesterday do you see the Eagles planning on signing another OLB for camp to get some competition for Marcus Smith? If not do you see Kendricks maybe getting some play time on the outside this season. He has the athletic ability and played outside with Reid in a 4-3.

I think someone who is a free agent on Aug. 4 is usually available for a reason. I do think they can bring in someone to compete for that spot, but I would expect Brad Jones to get some time there. Moving Kendricks over just gives you three starting caliber OLBs instead of ILBs.

No, I don't think that. And I think "racist" is a heavy label in which one must be careful assigning. But to a larger question, I don't think race factors into his decisions. I think personality does in some cases, and size does in almost all cases. ...I also think keeping Riley Cooper and releasing DeSean Jackson created ripples that went beyond normal transactions, and opened up questions. But I don't think race factors into Kelly's decisions.

I just don't see the benefit for Bradford unless he wants some type of security. Chip has said since the spring the Eagles want an extension. ...Best-case scenario for both sides would be a deal through 2016, but I think if Bradford has a good year, he can cash in with a long-term deal.

I think they need to play Ertz more. He's too talented to only be on the field for 50 percent of the snaps, and you don't want a situation where he's only in for passing situations. So I think he plays more. As for Celek, I think he'd go along with whatever is best for the team. That's one of the reasons Chip likes him so much.
