The Golden Tate trade was 100% a mistake. He was not what the offense needed (a RB or a WR that can regularly stretch the field) and they gave up a number 3 to rent him for 8 games. Draft capital is vital right now as they rebuild an aging roster and need to extend Wentz. It seems all the decisions/risks made last year all broke the right way and may have gone to Howie's head.

Lots of reasons for the disappointing season. But I'm going with injuries as #1. Just way too many. WRs, RBs, OL, DL, DBs. It's simply a different team on the field this year. For #2 I'll go with play calling. They miss Reich. Peterson seems to have a knack for calling exactly the wrong play at critical times. I absolutely do not buy any of the "blame Howie" nonsense I hear.

Those reasons are valid. Injuries are a reality in the NFL, but they're more concentrated to certain positions this year and Eagles aren't as resilient. Play-calling is a factor, too, especially early in games. I also think they're older and it's just a different team.

Small point, but were you surprised they release Carter and kept Gibson when they cleared that roster spot? I thought Carter was a very pleasant surprise in the return game, and it isn't even like Gibson is getting that much ST work, let alone getting on the field for the offense.
