Thank you for joining the weekly chat. Much to discuss after the Eagles' big win in London and trading for Golden Tate. Let's get right to it...
Darren Sproles' return will change that, Greg. He's their best pass-blocking running back, and they miss him in that area. I expect him back soon, and he'll be used in that role.
Fair question. I think with Ngata back and the way they play their ends inside, they'd rather cut a fringe player like Hector than dip into the WR pool yet. Maybe Jernigan will be back soon, too. Either way, if Wallace/Hollins return, the Eagles will have a big decision to make at WR.
Can't quantify it, and I think that's been overstated, but it's not something to dismiss -- especially on third down and red zone. I guess after a larger sample size, we'll have a better idea.
Sorry, I sent two at once. To Herbicide's question -- I see your point, and the price is the issue with the trade, but my guess is the Eagles think they get a 2020 comp. pick back. But more than that, they want to go for it this year. Isn't that what fans like to say? I agree they're not at the Saints or Rams level. But they have a franchise QB and they can get hot.
To Cutler's question -- I don't view it that way. I think they try to keep Agholor and they let Tate walk. But you never know.
Yes, but they went with what's available. I think they'll mix and match WRs, use Agholor on the outside. I don't love the fit, but talent is talent. They're more talented than they were on Monday.
Possibly, but I haven't heard that specifically. I just heard not to rule him out this year.
I know they look at all their options, but I don't know what offer was made.
I don't see it as helping the O-line, but I do think they use Tate in the short passing game. He thrives in that area, and that requires quicker drops.
Nothing definitive, no. But he's around the team often. He even went to London.
Too early to say, but I think he's a part of the Eagles' future. Needs to continue to develop. Hasn't played in a game yet.
Vaitai will play right tackle if Johnson is out. Johnson's injury could make him miss a month, but you never know -- he's played through pain before.
Washington based on what they've already accomplished. But I like that the Cowboys got Amari Cooper.
Eagles have decided to remain coy about injuries. It's an approach that has changed in recent years. And with Wallace and Hollins, there's not much mystery. They're on IR and team hopes to get them back, but must also consider Richard Rodgers.
I liked it. They're not going away -- NFL already scheduled 4 for next year. It's a long way to go for a game, but it's a great atmosphere.
I'd say in that order, although maybe Mahomes No. 1. A lot depends on talent around them, too.
They have 11 offensive linemen. Their backups are Vaitai, Wisniewski, Warmack. The first two started in the Super Bowl. So they do have depth. O-line must play better, but they're not a disaster.
Mike Wallace? He's on IR, so he's not released. And trade deadline has passed.
Not good enough, but not egregious. Jake Elliott missed three field goals, C. Johnston had too many touchbacks. But they'll be OK. Both are good players, especially Elliott.
No, if they activate him, he'll play.
Not formal, but Eagles utilize their alumni for different functions.
Thank you for all the questions. Happy Halloween, we'll talk next week.
