My guess is - you need a TD to win. Yeah you can kick a FG there, but if they're forced to kick another FG on their next drive too, they risk forcing OT which they don't need a) coming off OT last week and b) with a Thursday Night game straight ahead, you want to win it in regulation with a TD.

Anytime the blitz doesn't knock the qb down before he can throw, the receiver is wide open. This only holds true for the Eagles' defense
That happened in Baltimore a couple years ago. Doug went for two on their TD at the end of regulation and they didn't convert. Wanted to win it in regulation rather than play OT with a Thursday Night game next. Could be similar thinking here.
